Are you unhappy with the color, size, or shape of your teeth? Are you dreaming of having a more perfect smile? A New Smile provides some of the best dental veneers Santa Clarita and Eagle Rock have to offer. Our veneers can create a far more attractive smile, with evenly-spaced, brilliant teeth – just like your favorite celebrity. Dental veneers are created out of a wafer-thin layer of porcelain, and customized to fit perfectly over the front surface of a tooth. Some veneers are manufactured from a dental composite material rather than porcelain.
Do I Need Veneers?
Dental veneers can give you a more attractive smile by improving the shape, color, and position of your teeth. The color of the veneers will be carefully chosen to make your visible front teeth lighter, particularly helpful for those who have a discolored tooth or teeth that needs to be resolved. A chipped tooth can be made whole again; gaps can be closed; and teeth out of position can often be made to appear more aligned with a custom-created veneer. If you have discolored or uneven teeth, gaps, unevenly shaped or sized teeth, or just want a more brilliant smile, and have relatively healthy existing teeth, you are probably the perfect candidate for veneers.
The Advantages of Dental Veneers
Our Santa Clarita & Eagle Rock Dental veneers have several advantages, and are a very popular treatment. Some of the benefits they provide include:
- Teeth look natural and healthy
- Reflect and shine just like your natural teeth
- Better color
- Durable and long lasting
- Very little natural tooth is removed
- Dramatic, fast results
- Capable of correcting many flaws
- Fast treatment process
- Little recovery involved
- Custom-created for each patient
The Process: How Veneers Are Applied
The process typically requires at least two appointments. The first step involves the removal of a thin layer of enamel off the teeth to be treated. This process is performed with a local anesthetic so that you are comfortable and pain-free. After the enamel is removed, our dentist will take a mold of your teeth so your custom veneers can be manufactured. Most patients will have temporary veneers placed until the porcelain veneers are ready. The temporary veneers are not as strong, so while they are in place, you must be careful when cleaning your teeth, and avoid eating any hard, crunchy foods.
At your next appointment, the temporary veneers will be removed. A special chemical is put on your teeth to create a slightly rough surface so that your custom veneers can be permanently adhered to the surface. The new veneers are each then carefully placed and glued to your teeth, with a permanent dental cement. Your new smile is now in place, with gaps, uneven teeth, or discolored teeth completely resolved.
Porcelain or Composite Veneers?
Composite veneers can improve the shape, color position, and certain tooth alignment problems, but are not custom manufactured, and are prone to chipping and breakage. The drawbacks associated with composite veneers is that they are far more fragile and likely to break than porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are the superior product in that they are long lasting, and created specifically for you. They are permanently bonded to your teeth, and can be created to handle a wider range of problems. Composite veneers last about 4 to 8 years, and are susceptible to chipping, but are more affordable. The biggest difference is in the strength and durability of the two types of veneers, and the fact that porcelain veneers do not stain, while composite veneers will, due to the material from which each is fabricated.
Which Type of Veneers Are Right for You?
At A New Smile, we offer our patients several different types of veneers. Each individual has a unique dental problem to solve, and we can discuss the right veneers for you after an in-person evaluation. The types we offer at our practice include:
These veneers can give you a brilliant smile in just two office visits. Get permanent, bright, white teeth that are custom made for you — for a perfect fit.
- Laminate Veneers
These veneers are wafer-thin porcelain shells, bonded to the front of the teeth being treated. The veneers cover dental flaws such as chips, stains, gaps, and other imperfections.
- Porcelain Veneers
Veneers that are crafted from porcelain recreate the sheen of a natural, healthy tooth, and have a comparable strength and resilience.

Veneer Consultation: Find Out More
We invite you to schedule a consultation about porcelain veneers, and get your questions answered. Our cosmetic dentist can evaluate the condition of your teeth to determine if you are a candidate. The color, position, and condition of your teeth will be evaluated. You likely have specific questions about veneers, including how the final product will change your appearance. We are happy to speak with you about veneers and other cosmetic dentistry options. The beauty of porcelain veneers is that they are virtually undetectable, and appear completely natural, as the material has similar reflective qualities to natural tooth enamel. For those who have damaged teeth, whether discolored, chipped, too small, too large, or oddly shaped, veneers can dramatically change the appearance of your smile. We invite you to set an appointment for a consultation.
Taking Care of Your New Smile
You want to maintain your new smile. The material from which the veneers are created is very strong, and wears as well as or better than your natural teeth, but does not decay. Caring for porcelain veneers is not difficult, as generally, you treat them exactly like your natural teeth, with brushing and flossing. When brushing, a non-abrasive brand of toothpaste is necessary. If you grind or clench your teeth, it is important that we create a sleep-time mouth guard to protect against cracks or other damages.
Return for standard cleaning every six months. Some patients choose to have their veneers cleaned four times a year for even more maintenance. Always have cleanings done by a cosmetic dentist, as the wrong product or cleaning procedure could damage your veneers. They must be carefully polished with a special dental paste that does not affect the surface glaze. Your new teeth will be susceptible to fracture, just like your natural teeth, so it is important that you completely avoid biting on hard items such as pens, ice, etc. Patients that engage in various sports are advised to wear a mouth protector.
