When teeth have been irreparably damaged, dentures may be the only way to restore your smile. Whether you have lost teeth through gum disease, tooth decay, or an injury, dentures can be crafted specifically for you and will appear to be your natural teeth. When you have lost many of your teeth, you can be left looking old and tired as the facial muscles sink in. Your new dentures will restore the volume to your face and mouth, as well as making it easier to eat and speak.
Dentures That Fit Correctly for your Comfort
The “fit” of your dentures is extremely important, and newer dental technology has made it possible to create dentures that are aesthetically superior to earlier types of appliances. If you need dentures or have ill-fitting, uncomfortable dentures, we can help you experience greater comfort, as well as create a set of teeth that looks exactly like your own.
Creating natural-looking dentures is both a skill and an art. At A New Smile Dental Group, our dentists stay ahead of the curve on new developments in dentures, and are prepared to craft a new set of teeth that look and function like your natural teeth.
Types of Dentures
Full dentures: These dentures are a full set of removable teeth. Several types of full dentures are available, and these full sets are made of composite acrylic resins. These dentures are crafted to fit your mouth cavity and gums perfectly, and appear to be a completely natural set of teeth. They are removed for cleaning.
Partial dentures: Some patients need a partial denture to replace a few missing teeth. This is a removable appliance.
Fixed dentures: Fixed dentures or a “bridge” can be attached to the adjacent teeth and are not removable. These replacement teeth are appropriate for people who have lost a few teeth in an area, but the remaining teeth (and gums) are healthy.
Dental implants: Implant technology provides the opportunity to have a new set of teeth that are anchored to the jaw so that the new teeth look and function just like your natural teeth.
Immediate dentures: When all teeth have been extracted, immediate dentures can be placed so that there is no need to wait while the jaw heals, and no fear of facing the world without teeth. They may need adjustment as the mouth heals.
