Cosmetic dentistry has a bit of a reputation for being somewhat superfluous. But in my experience, that’s rarely what actually brings patients in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the time, it’s actually about confidence. The patient wants to be able to smile in photos without thinking about it. They’re tired of covering their mouth when they laugh and tired of their smile not matching how they feel about themselves. After all, if your eyes are a window into your soul, your smile is a window into your joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start With What Bothers You<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cosmetic dentistry covers a wide range of treatments, including teeth whitening, bonding, veneers, Invisalign, and more. But the right starting point isn’t really a specific treatment\u2014It’s about identifying what genuinely bothers you when you look in the mirror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discoloration is a very different fix than dental crowding, which is different again from a chipped tooth. Giving your discomfort a name will make the process of correcting it smoother and more enjoyable!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consider Your Timeline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Some cosmetic treatments happen in a single visit. Others, like Invisalign, take months. Neither is “better”\u2014it just depends on what you’re trying to achieve and how much time you\u2019re able to commit to getting there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Think About Maintenance, Not Just Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Veneers, whitening, and bonding all come with different long-term care requirements. A good cosmetic dentistry consultation should walk you through what maintaining your results will actually look like. Depending on how much effort you\u2019re willing to put into your smile every day, different treatments could be a better fit for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
