Question and Answers
Question: What is a dental veneer?
Answer: At A New Smile Dental Group we offer laminate veneers that are super-thin, translucent, ceramic shells that are bonded to your teeth. Veneers can improve the length and shape of your teeth; fill gaps between teeth; cover imperfections such as chips, pits, craze lines, cracks, or broken teeth; and whiten your teeth.
Question: What is the procedure for receiving veneers?
Answer: When receiving veneers the first visit will consist of preparing the teeth by either roughening up the surface or removing enough tooth structure to accommodate the thickness of the veneer. Next your dentist will make impressions of your teeth. The impressions and other measurements will be sent to a lab. When your veneers have been custom fabricated, you will attend a second visit during which your veneers will be tested for fit and bonded.
Question: Are veneers for front and back teeth?
Answer: Veneers are a common treatment for front dentition.
Question: How expensive are veneers?
Answer: The cost of veneer treatment depends upon the veneer material. Composite veneers, which last between five and seven years, can cost $250 to $1,500 per tooth, while porcelain ceramic veneers can cost between $900 and $2,500 per tooth, but can last up to 15 years.
